The Archives of the South Carolina Genealogical Society are currently housed at the Hartsville Genealogical Research Library, home of the Old Darlington District Chapter, S.C.G.S. The Research Library is located at 114 South Fourth Street in Hartsville, in the old Hartsville Train Depot. Hours:

Friday- 1-5 p.m.
Saturday- 10
a.m. - 3 p.m.
Sunday- 2-5 p.m.

The Archivist of the Society is required to retain
custody of the all official documents relating to the incorporation of the
Society and to receive, house, and to make available to researchers all
genealogical donations.
SCGS members and patrons are encouraged to use the holdings of the SCGS Archives during the above listed hours. Individuals, authors, and genealogical chapters are encouraged to make contributions to the SCGS Archives. A copy of publications nominated for the annual SCGS Publications Awards is deposited in the SCGS Archives. Doris G. Gandy of Hartsville serves as the SCGS Archivist.
