In this talk, Ken Thomas will address “Finding Cousins Thru Chromosomes,” “Why do
DNA,” and “Why is it no longer an option, but a necessity in doing genealogy?” Topics
will also cover the different companies that offer DNA testing, the three types of tests,
and what strategy to use to get started and to make the most of the test results. DNA
testing for genealogy is not the future; it is the present.
About our Speaker:
A Native of Columbus, Ken graduated from Columbus High School and Emory
University with a major in History. Ken retired after 33 years as a historian for the State
of Georgia. He has written the weekly column on Genealogy for the Sunday Edition of
the Atlanta Journal-Constitution since 1977. He has authored two books and has been a
recipient of many awards.
